Introduction

In The Event Of is an online collaborative independent publication and alternative media project. In an effort to create an umbrella project to catalogue our creative works, In The Event Of was established originally as an experimental music label, but is now also the name used to create and release a spectrum of multidisciplinary media.

Our work covers a range of topics, including film, music, culture, and tech. We interview and profile musicians to discuss their work and process, and apply film theory to conversations happening in the world of film, visual media, and art. Our writing also looks at advancements in various and media-related technological fields developed by teams of people working to keep tech independent and accessible.

In The Event Of also maps intersections between the world of tech, media, and online spaces. This research aims to investigate internet-driven cultural, sociopolitical, and hyperreality concepts and their shaping of media and technology. This is to say that we do our best to cover the strange and bizarre happenings in online culture that find their way into our daily discourse.
